Sean Hepburn Ferrer is the son of Audrey Hepburn and the actor and director Mel Ferrer. A writer, filmmaker, and founder of the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund, he married Karin Hofer in 2014. The choice of the Alborada — a Galician dawn-song — as a wedding gift reflects both the intimacy of the occasion and Wehage's characteristic instinct to match form to meaning: the aubade, addressed to the sleeping beloved, becomes here an offering to two people beginning a new life together.
Sean Hepburn Ferrer est le fils d'Audrey Hepburn et de l'acteur et réalisateur Mel Ferrer. Écrivain, cinéaste et fondateur de l'Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund, il a épousé Karin Hofer en 2014. Le choix de l'Alborada — une chanson de l'aube galicienne — comme cadeau de mariage reflète à la fois l'intimité de l'occasion et l'instinct caractéristique de Wehage d'adapter la forme au sens : l'aubade, adressée à la bien-aimée endormie, devient ici une offrande à deux personnes qui commencent une nouvelle vie ensemble.

The Alborada is a morning serenade, traditionally sung in the doorway of a sleeping woman at dawn. The idea of dawn here is also intended to reflect the new beginning of two people marrying. The work is in a simple ABA form, with an opening recitative-like section, followed by a simple choral melody and a final return of the opening declamation.

L'Alborada est la version espagnole de l'Aubade, une sérénade matinale traditionnellement chantée sur le pas-de-porte d'une dame endormie. L'idée de l'aube ici est aussi évocatrice de deux personnes qui recommencent leurs vies à travers un mariage. La pièce est dans une forme ABA, avec un début en récitatif, suivie par une mélodie en choral et un retour du thème du début.
