Night Incantation for Solo Piccolo was written for Seab Turner on the ocassion of his 60th birthday.

The work is in an ABA slow/fast/slow form which uses a nocturne-like passage alternating with a more structured, atonal theme which forms the basis of the faster section. This structured themes enters at the end of the first A section as a sort of "passing thought" which then turns into the obsessional treatment in the faster section. The Nocturne theme is restated at the beginning of the second slow section, but the structured theme enters towards the end, as a sort of "memory". The work ends with a softer theme which may express slipping into sleep.

Night Incantation pour Piccolo seul est écrit pour Seab Turner à l'ocassion de son 60ème anniversaire..

L'oeuvre est dans un forme ABA (lent/vif/lent) qui alterne un thème "noturne" avec une autre passage plus structuré et atonale. La thème atonale entre à la fin de la première partie comme une sorte de "pensé de passage" qui, dans la partie rapide, est developpé dans une manière obsessionelle. La thème "nocturne" revient pour le debut de la partie finale, mais elle est interrompue par la thème atonale vers la fin, comme un souvenir qui revient. L'oeuvre prends fin avec une passage plus douce, comme une passage vers le sommeil.
